How a Piano Teacher Should Approach the Student / What a Student Should Expect from the Piano Teacher

It is the piano teacher's duty to respect the student and do his/her best to motivate him/her. A piano teacher's approach towards the student comes before everything else. A respectful and supportive attitude by the teacher is the best tool for the student's advance. If a student loses his/her motivation, they are likely to walk way from the piano. The piano teacher can be as knowledgable as possible, provided that the limits of respect are not exceeded, because then the process of learning would stop. It's noteworthy that there still exists a group of teachers who would not refrain from looking down on, or even yelling at their students. Even more interestingly, some students even continue to take classes from them. Learning the piano is about the love for music and cherishing the journey during which you discover the piano. This goes without saying that it wouldn't always be fun and joyful. There are times when an insensitive, purely technical exercise may be absolutely neccessary. It wouldn't be honest to claim that every single moment of the lessons would be exhilarating with the piano teacher providing fun all the time. Art travels across all emotions.
