Piano lessons develops patience and discipline. As a piano teacher, truth be told, you should not expect it to be fun at all times. The process of learning/playing the piano harbours many emotions. At times you will feel happy, angry, funny or sad, depending on your awarness of what you play. Or you will be determined to do better by repeatedly playing a piece like you would when you try to get to the next level in a computer game. Sometimes your fingers race against the metronome to solve a technical problem and pace up a certain part. There are times when you improvise and marvel at your own melodies, and times when you are utterly frustrated with yourself. Think about the great composers and artists. Many pieces which have impacted art derive from the artists' pains and experiences. The process of learning the piano is a never ending journey in which every emotion can be found, which improves with labour, where you can never say ”I've reached the end”. The good piano teacher can only show you the way. It is up to you walk the line like a zen master. I will be by your side to help you manage the process in the best possible way.
