My Piano Education System for Children
For a solid technical foundation, you’re in the right place!
Every child is unique, so I have a variety of piano books/methods tailored to each student. Classical music, jazz, blues, rock, pop... There are many paths to explore while building a strong foundation. In piano lessons, they will learn basic posture and hand positions, technique, and how to read music.
If the young pianist dreams of becoming a professional classical pianist, we can focus on a path filled with more technical exercises and plenty of works by composers like Bach, Chopin, and Mozart.
If you wish, we can also prepare for piano certificate exams like ABRSM or Trinity, which can help earn extra points for university. Or, we can simply create a fun piano repertoire as a hobby!
Alongside learning notes, we also dive into improvisation and composing, encouraging kids to create their own music. This approach offers a refreshing change from traditional classical training.
I encourage students to explore and listen to a variety of music at home to broaden their musical horizons.
If a child shows exceptional musical talent, I work closely with parents to help guide them towards conservatories.
I encourage parents to record their child's practice sessions at home and share them with me. This helps keep students motivated and supports regular practice.
While we can certainly prepare for piano exams like ABRSM if desired, my primary goal is to nurture a love for music without stressing over exams. The child’s enjoyment and positive attitude are what matter most to me.
I truly love teaching children because I enjoy playing and interacting with them. Since I started teaching in 2006, I’ve learned to be patient and attentive to their feelings.
